Who we are
Easee is a Norwegian green-tech company building the future of electrification. Our products make life easier by removing barriers to adopting electric technology — creating smarter, more efficient power grids along the way.
Founded in 2018, we design, develop, and manufacture products in Scandinavia, blending cutting-edge technology with a kind, modern culture. Easee was founded on the idea that ambition and delivering cutting-edge technology, can and should go together with a kind and modern company culture that brings out the best in people. We call that: Dare, Care, Deliver.
Purpose of the role
Easee recently returned to profitability after navigating significant challenges. We now have over 1 million connected chargers across Europe - effectively one of the continent's largest virtual batteries. Now we're building the software to unlock that potential.
Your mission is to lead and grow Easee’s APIs team and to drive our integration platform and energy services - the systems that connect our chargers to flexibility markets, enable smart charging, and power our partner ecosystem.
You will treat APIs and integration platforms as first-class products, ensuring that our public-facing interfaces are robust, secure, scalable, and built for long-term ecosystem growth.
This is both a technical leadership role and a hands-on position. You'll build and mentor a highly capable team while driving technical and architectural decisions that shape how Easee scales its software alongside European market expansion.
If you’re motivated by building high-scale distributed systems, enabling partner ecosystems, and shaping the future of EV charging and energy flexibility — this is your opportunity.
What you will do
Build and lead a high-performance team. Mentor and develop engineers (both direct reports and consultants) with clear growth paths and appropriate challenges
Create psychological safety where engineers take initiative, make calculated risks, and ship impactful software
Balance operational excellence with innovation - maintaining stability while building new capabilities
Shape the technical culture and set standards for how we work
Set technical direction
Drive technical and architectural decisions for cloud-native, distributed systems that support Easee's growth ambitions. You will shape how we build and operate the systems that connect our charging infrastructure to the world:
Public REST APIs, serving partners, installers, web and mobile apps, and third-party integrators
OCPP implementations connecting chargers to our platform
Event-driven systems for real-time charging data, commands, and telemetry processing
Smart charging services optimising for grid load, energy prices, and user preferences
Grid flexibility market integrations
Streaming infrastructure (AMQP, MQTT) for high-volume device communication
You'll treat these as first-class products - with fair use policies, versioning, rate limiting, security, and developer experience in mind.
Translate vision into execution
Shape and evolve the long-term software strategy in collaboration with the Head of Software and CTO.
Turn strategic goals into actionable roadmaps, documentation and technical direction.
Be a strong communicator — able to simplify complex technical concepts for Product, Sales, customers, and executive stakeholders.
Enable cross-functional impact
Collaborate closely with:
Product management to translate market needs into technical requirements
Hardware teams to ensure seamless software–hardware integration
Sales, Marketing and Customer Excellence to align capabilities with market messaging
External technology partners, integrators and API users
What success looks like

Managing technically diverse stakeholders across Product, Hardware, Sales, and external partners
Navigating the complexity of the EV charging and energy ecosystem - a rapidly evolving regulatory and technical landscape
Scaling systems and teams in a fast-growth environment while maintaining operational excellence
We believe you are a good match if you have
3+ years of leadership experience in software engineering teams
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
Experience leading remote or hybrid teams
A strong understanding of what differentiates high-performing engineering teams from average ones
Technical skills we value
Experience with C# or a comparable language in production systems
Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
Experience operating REST APIs serving external consumers at scale
Familiarity with messaging protocols such as AMQP, MQTT, or SQS
Bonus if you have experience with: OCPP, OpenADR or another charging/energy protocol
CPOs, aggregator platforms, or grid flexibility services
Commercial integration platforms
Operating systems in regulated domains
