The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Business Development Representative to support the growth of our UK commercial team by driving top-of-funnel activity and building a strong, qualified opportunity pipeline.
You’ll focus on inbound lead management, outbound prospecting, qualification, and handover— ensuring opportunities are set up for success from the very first interaction.
You’ll spend a lot of time speaking to prospects, at events, and working closely with the wider sales and marketing teams to ensure no opportunity is missed.
What you’ll do:
Lead generation & prospecting
Identify and research target accounts using internal tools, CRM, and external data sources
Manage inbound leads and the shared sales inbox, ensuring timely follow-up and correct routing
Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, LinkedIn, events, and other channels
Qualification, Pipeline & Collaboration
Hold initial qualification and discovery conversations to understand customer needs, challenges, and decision-making processes
Qualify opportunities against agreed criteria and book high-quality meetings and product demonstrations for the Sales Development team
Accurately log and maintain all activity in CRM, ensuring strong pipeline hygiene and reliable handover points
Track opportunities identified, qualified, and successfully progressed to the next stage
Work closely with Marketing on inbound campaign follow-ups and provide feedback on messaging effectiveness
Share market insights, common objections, and competitor intelligence with the wider commercial team
Support smooth handovers from pre-sales into sales, and onward to Account Management and Partner Success once deals are won
Build a strong understanding of the full customer lifecycle across pre-sales, delivery, and post-sales, while remaining focused on top-of-funnel execution
What you’ll bring
1–2 years of experience in a sales, business development, customer-facing, or commercial support role (SaaS or hardware experience is a plus)
Confidence and resilience when communicating with prospects via phone, email, and LinkedIn
Strong organisation skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing inbound leads and CRM data
Curiosity about customers, markets, and commercial challenges
A proactive, self-starting mindset with a willingness to learn and improve
Comfortable working towards clear KPIs and activity targets
Logistics
Office-based role with 4 days per week on site
Location: London (Blackfriars) or Glasgow
Some opportunity to working from home
No car required, but a driving licence is preferred
